AUTHORITARISM COMES AFTER VAPING

As predicted, the Federal Government is targeting vapor products whereas the State does not.
Now you are not allowed to ship vapor products to most US locations which demonstrates they’re deliberately targeting the vapor industry without legitimate justification.

In the age of the global pandemic and when online purchasing has never been more of a necessity, the Federal Government has decreed that you can purchase certain products online but you’re just not allowed to use US postal carriers to have it delivered.

This is double trouble as many places have closed down due to COVID restrictions & mandates or at a minimum make shopping in-person a non-viable alternative.

It should be noted that this restriction does not apply equally to cigarettes or tobacco products. I can order a carton of US cigarettes online & receive them in the mail but I cannot purchase anything having to do with vaping, including device accessories. This includes little pieces of plastic but is not limited to glycerin with or without nicotine. How does this make any sense?

First they put an age restriction of 18 years of age to buy vapor products (including those without nicotine), then they increased it to 21, then they made “proving/validating” your age for online purchasing exhausting, painful, and far more stringent than for cigarettes. Now they’re saying you can’t receive benign legal and legitimate products through the mail….because of, um, Reasons?

For all of you non-Vapers or non-Smokers out there, if you think this doesn’t affect you, think again. We all have a dog in this fight. The Federal Government is dictating what LEGAL products you can or cannot purchase online and they’re doing it in the weasely way of banning what can be mailed through the US Postal Services….including private providers such as FedEX & DHL.

You can do something about this. Call and complain to your locale representitives, write your Congressman/Congresswoman, & if this fails to get traction change who you vote for.

I recommend checking whatever online site you use for Vape purchasing to see if you are still allowed to shop for the products you desire. Suppliers are searching for viable alternative delivery solutions, but to date, they are unable to accommodate most orders.

If you have ran into similar issues, or simply want to submit your thoughts on the subject please do not hesitate to leave a comment.

steelseries Arctis 1 Wired Headset = Gaming Comfort

I have been a lifelong gamer. From arcade stand-up/sit-down cabinets, home consoles, and PC, I have played almost everything out there when it comes to formats. With these new consoles, Dolby Atmos, and surround sound systems, game audio is ever immersive.

I have always loved first-person shooter (FPS) games going back to Doom, Duke Nuke’em, and Golden Eye. In those days, sound wasn’t as important. Today is a different story. Sound can determine who survives the gun fight. This is where headsets become important.

I am not a fan of spending an exorbitant amount of money on headphones if I can get away with less for pretty decent quality. Notice I didn’t say high quality.

I went through a lot of headsets before I settled on the steelseries Arctis 1 Wired (Retail 49.99). You can do your own research, but I want to put my two cents in.

I have a slightly large noggin and these headsets are comfortable. I’ve worn them for up to 8 hours. The foam earcups don’t place a lot of pressure around my ears and do a fairly decent job of keeping outside noise in its place. Sound reproduction works well when the game I am playing doesn’t screw it up.

The only drawback is the microphone. They made it detachable should you just want to rock the headset. The unit I initially purchased had a bad mic. People had a difficult time hearing me. Instead of returning and buying another headset, I just bought a compatible mic. Since then, all is golden. Remember this, you have a 50/50 shot at a good/bad mic.

I use a third generation Astro Mixamp that I purchased on eBay for the Xbox/PC. This is the reason I chose a wired setup. The company does make a wireless version.

So, just to recap.

  1. Comfortable, even for big-headed people.
  2. Good sound reproduction for the non-audiophile.
  3. 50/50 on whether your mic sucks.

Vape While You Can

I will not pretend that vaping is a “healthy” habit to pick up, however I will declare with confidence that it is a far healthier and cheaper alternative to smoking cigarettes.

There are a lot of choices out there for vaping products that can make it intimidating when trying to decide what might be right for you. I’ve tried all shapes and sizes when it comes to devices and thought I might share some tips for the newcomers.

Know your needs: Purchase items that meet your nicotine delivery expectations. Heavy smokers should get higher nicotine & 70/30 liquids until you can mentally ween yourself off of “analog” cigarettes.

Liquids: Salts are good, last a longtime, but are strong…they’re not for the casual user. Start with tobacco flavors, then slowly transition to the fruits. If you don’t know the flavor always read the comments and reviews before purchasing.

Start with a Kit, they’re around $50 bucks or less and they’ll get you started.

Keep your smoking schedule. Vape at the same times and intervals that you would normally smoke. Keep the same time duration, you don’t have a smoldering butt to time your session.

The current lawmakers in DC are suggesting a tax on vape products like cigarettes, which could mean large increases in prices. So get it, while the getting’s good.

This is my favorite site.

They have all the right gear and their e-liquids are the best I know of.

It’s nice to custom make your own juice as well.

Very easy online shopping that is not exclusive to the US. I’ve had stuff sent to European addresses at reasonable shipping prices.

Check it out. Buy/Try. Or don’t…

But, if you’re interested in losing the cigs or enjoy a portable shisha pipe, give it a look.

Here is a link to get you started.
